Congratulations to Maramarua from Pukekohe Netball Centre as the division 1 winners and Marlins Gold from Papakura Netball Centre as the runners-up.

Also, congratulations to Motor Chicks from Netball Manurewa as the division 2 winners and WMSC from Waiuku Netball Centre as the runners-up.

An important pathway

Hosted by Netball Manurewa, the Counties Manukau Netball Centre Cluster Regional Premier League, consists of six rounds involving the top premier clubs in the Counties Manukau region.

Netball Manurewa Development Manager, Briar Martindale says the competition is an important pathway, and works to increase the standard of competition in Counties Manukau.

“It provides both players and officials with development opportunities,” she says.

“We want talented players, from all centres across Counties Manukau, to be seen, and to experience a high level of competition.”

“This league is one way we can do this together as a cluster, so that participants from all of our Counties Manukau centres gain experience.”

Guest appearances

On final’s night, Briar says they were really excited to have MG Mystics coaches Tia Winikerei and Rob Wright come along to observe. They also brought with them the ANZ Premiership trophy to share with the community.

“It was great to have Tia and Rob come along to watch and present the awards to our teams at prizegiving,” says Briar.

“It was a really special night for all of the teams involved.”
