Netball Northern Zone are excited to share with you our 2024 Auckland Region Netball Facility Plan. This plan identifies our current and future demand for netball courts and outlines our priorities for Auckland Region netball facility investment over the next ten years.
Netball Northern Zone CEO, Phil Vyver says the Auckland Region Netball Facility Plan has been a large and important piece of work.
“We’d like to thank Visitor Solutions Ltd for their role in developing this plan, and Auckland Council, Aktive, and our Centres for their invaluable input.”
The focus of the Plan
The Plan covers the 11 netball centres and seven satellite sites within the Auckland Region and focuses on; the right number of courts in the right places, the court surfaces and playing environments are fit for purpose, and there are sustainable ownership models for each centre.
A collective voice
Phil says in the increasingly constrained and competitive funding environment, it’s important to have a collective voice on our facility priorities, as it will help to support the Auckland Region centres over the next ten years.
“The plan provides robust analysis and evidence to support facility investment, and we believe this will support our Auckland Region centres when working with their local boards, funders and communities.”
“We were really pleased that our 2015 Auckland Region Facility Plan was successful in supporting the delivery of $5 million investment into Auckland Region netball facilities, and we hope this plan will do much of the same,” says Phil.
Key areas of the Plan
Some of the key areas that the Plan covers is a focus on; collaboration, integrated facilities, environmental/financial sustainability and incorporating te ao Māori outcomes.
