Netball New Zealand’s National Development Camp (NDC) returned to Auckland in mid January, the first weekend of a three-weekend regionalised development camp. The weekend saw our Zone’s top emerging secondary school athletes, coaches, umpires, and umpire coaches invited into an environment designed to challenge them, grow their skills, and build a shared understanding of the performance environment. 26 of Northern Zone athletes, 12 coaches, 12 umpires/umpire coaches and Netball Northern staff were involved across the camp.

Netball Northern recently hosted two online roadshow sessions, giving our community a clear look into how the Netball Northern Zone Athlete Performance Pathway works. Coaches, administrators, centre leaders, players, parents and volunteers joined us to understand how players move from emerging talent through to high-performance opportunities, and how we can work together to support them.

Over Labour weekend, Netball Northern hosted a series of development workshops and NZSS trial matches, providing valuable opportunities for players, umpires, and bench officials across the zone.

Over the past two weekends, Netball Northern hosted two successful Development Days across our Zone – one at Netball Waitākere and the other at Bruce Pulman Arena.
